🇮🇹 An Italian postman from the town of Urbania, in the Marche region, has built an extraordinary collection of 1,176,000 one-euro-cent coins. The impressive collection weighs approximately 2,710 kilograms and has a total face value of €11,760.

But what began as a harmless hobby eventually turned into an unexpected problem: the enormous weight of the coins started causing cracks in the concrete structures of his own home!

👤 Meet Bruno Salvi – The Man Behind the Incredible Collection

The collector is Bruno Salvi, an Italian postman whose passion for coins began in childhood. As a young boy, he collected Italian 20-lira and 500-lira coins, fascinated by their beautiful designs.

When the euro was introduced, Bruno decided to focus on the smallest denomination of the new European currency: the one-cent coin.

At first, it was simply a personal challenge. He wanted to see how many coins he could accumulate.

Over time, however, his unusual hobby attracted the attention of friends, acquaintances and local residents. People who knew about his passion began giving him their spare change – coins that would otherwise remain forgotten in wallets, drawers or pockets.

🏺 2.7 Tons of Coins Stored in 28 Glass Containers!

Today, Bruno's enormous collection is stored in 28 glass containers, each with a capacity of 30 litres.

Initially, he kept the containers along the staircase of his home. However, as the collection continued to grow, its incredible weight became a serious concern.

⚠️ The concrete staircase structure began developing cracks, forcing Bruno to move the heavy containers to the lower floors of the building.

What was once an unusual coin collection had become a real structural challenge!

🎯 The Next Goal: 1.5 Million Coins!

Despite the unexpected difficulties, Bruno has no intention of giving up.

His next ambitious target is to collect 1,500,000 one-cent coins. He still needs another 324,000 coins to reach this remarkable milestone!

He is fascinated by the journey of every individual coin: how many people have held it, how many wallets and shops it has passed through, and how many different places it may have visited.
